ABOUT ME

A former student of the Royal Irish Academy Dublin, Richie Dunne is a student of Violin at the Royal Northern College, Manchester. He is the current leader and soloist with the renowned Cross Border Orchestra of Ireland and performs annually with them in Arena concerts throughout Ireland, Northern Ireland and in the UK. Richie has toured extensively with CBOI performing at premier venues all over the World including Carnegie Hall, New York; the Royal Albert Hall London; the Oriental Arts Centre, Shanghai. Richie has also had the honour of performing for Barak Obama at the Whitehouse and for Prince Charles at the residence of the British Ambassador to Ireland, in Dublin. Richie was also a member of the National Youth Orchestra of Ireland and the Ulster Youth Orchestra and Co-led UYO for their for 25th Anniversary tour to Vienna, Bratislava and Salzburg in 2018. 
Richie has a keen interest in Musical Theatre and loves to perform with the London Music Theatre Orchestra.  He plays regularly with BJW Productions and was delighted to be their violin as part of their UK premier of ‘The Mad Ones’ in April 2021. Richie was honoured to be invited to perform the solo violin part in Trinity College Dublin’s post-grad production of ‘The Last Five Years’ at the Lír Theatre, Dublin in 2018. Richie  has played in the pit, performed on stage and produced numerous Musicals with amateur Musical Societies and with his Alma Mater, Dundalk Grammar School including, The Addams Family, Beauty and the Beast, The Lion King, Mamma Mia and All Shook Up.
Richie has written arrangements of popular music for full symphony orchestra including ‘Shallow’ from the film ‘A Star is Born’. CBOI’s performance of this has got over 15M views on YouTube. 
Richie looks forward to performing with BJW Productions in their US debut of ‘The Mad One’ in New York on 28th July 2022, and to leading the Cross Border Orchestra of Ireland in a showcase performance at Carnegie Hall, New York on 17th March 2023.
